Evaluated By Students
2005.04.22 4:33

I used to be in charge of students in correspondence course in university degree. Because I was a lazy teacher, I let them write their report whatever they want by saying it is your report, I cannot help you with your report.
As a result, 70 out of 100 students succeeded in getting units of the subjects.
In the school, there was another teacher, who is actually one of my best friends, was different, different from my way, instead of letting them write whatever they want as I did, he said, bring them all before you submit your report, then he would rewrite or instruct in persuit of better report so that everone can pass the exam. As a result of his over-exercise over his students' reports, 100 out of 100 students able to pass his subjects. I lost credibilities of students, evaluation by my superviser's gone. He's got a reputation of a good teacher both from his students and supervisers.
The reason I recall this is this time, it was my event, which was held from 9:15 a.m. But my senior colleague did 70% and less of 30 % was done by me. Result was... I was openly very praised by my superviser in front of all our colleagues. Of course I was very proud of that. Then in our backyard, I told him - helper behind the scenes that I used to have an episode above I mentioned.
I said, students' reputation is a teacher's reputation. He deeply nodded with showing some impression to my anecdotes.
