#Substantially different phenomenally similar
Both people are notably diligent, punctual, used to be fanatic, jingoistic, chauvinistic but not now. The Germans are too logical, when they fed up with their logic, they tend to go irrational. The Japanese are too emotional, they are not accustomed to logical thinking, they think their emotion is logical, for them it's logical, for the rest of them, they seem to be irrational. Thus both people tend to go irrational, which leads to the rest of the two people misunderstood.
