The Tale of Water Margin
2005.05.08 2:27

The Tale of Water Margin or Suikoden - This word used to be just a transliteration of Japanese word but now we can find lots of entries in a seach engine. Because of the roll playing games, now the word must be known to many people who like to play games. But originally who knows Suikoden is considered to be one of the three strangest books in China? One is 'Romance of the Three Kingdom', and the second is this or rather 'Tale of Water Margin or Outlaws of the Marsh' and the last one is 'Journey to the West.'
Although all three are so familiar to many people here, I am particularly fond of this Water Margin, mainly because I at age 10 read all chapters of the book - about 1,000 pages in penguin classic size. It took roughly three months. So I can tell every nuke and cranny of this story. The book was so interested that I was about to forget to eat supper at that time. Literally speaking I believe this book is a very excellent work.
And more that interests me is there are many series like Suikoden I, II, III and so on in roll playing games, this game must be one of the popular games among game connoisseurs. If its original were good, mangas, TV series, plays and RPG -derivatives from the original must be liable to get a good reputation. First off I just wonder what to say Suikoden in English is. I was unable to help but be surprised to find the word Suikoden is Suikoden in search engine. Suikoden came to be a universal language in thirty years.
Same line, Musashi came to be a universal word. He was well known to almost all Japanese people as a sword saint, who practise a two-sword way and also very famous for his duel with another sword master Kojiro Sasaki. Mainly because Musashi was a name of hero in a RPG. Through computer games, some of oriental cultures and traditions have been being adopted permeatedly. By the way, I have been using one disposable Gillet for more than four years, which never goes rotten and keep being a very good razor. Amazing. This was one of four or five sets of disposable razor, and one of which it survived through the long tidal wave of time duration.
Good original lasts forever...
