The University of Tokyo

The University of Tokyo is the most prestigious university in Japan, ranked 16th in the world top academies had been regarded the citadel of Marxist economy, especially in its economics department - I am not sure now.
Mr Seiji Tsutsumi, one of the older brothers of arrested ex-chairman Mr Yoshiaki Tsutsumi, has been much rather known as a poet among literaly people than a president of the major department store, entered the Japan Communist Party shortly after he went to the University of Tokyo.
Almost all government officials are Tokyo University graduates, that's why Japan had taken a form of bureaucrat socialism, in other words, state-led capitalism whose features are planned economy, I guess I'm not sure.

So, the majority of your government officials come from your best university? Are government jobs considered good in Japan? I'm asking since most government jobs in the US are not considered attractive. Most US workers prefer to enter business where they can earn more money.

Yes, very much so.
About a century ago, this university was found to nuture the best civil servants, so they acceptted students according to their results, performance, eagerness to learn in school, regardless what their family background was.
They are relatively well-paid, but in the case of private companies, too, salaries don't make much difference. It was not money why elitest of all elites headed for government jobs was a tradition of this country - besides anything, we tend to put highest value on authority of government, which certainly stems from the belief or rather religious faith that we all are sons of one family which itself contains a very dangerous aspect - that could have led to a total devastation in the last war, also might be able to lead to a prosperous future of our society if it were used properly.
So far, it has been functioned well - as Tokyo Prosecutors' Office, a nest of elitest brains from Tokyo Univ. indicted successfully nation's one of richest business tycoons, and Tokyo District Court, a den of elitest judges from Tokyo Univ. whether to decide which to win between forces based on new whizkid/foreign investment bank and forces that represent conservatives, properly and fairly enough, whatever the decision they made, we are poised to accept their decision that has been somehow taken for granted that it's impartial in our society for not only centuries but millenniums.--Ancient Greek Philosophers -18c Enlightenment Thinkers -Slashdotters
